Planning and design for 14km long urban road network in Delhi with Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System and dedicated NMT infrastructure
The project was undertaken in two parts. The first stage which was completed in 2006 included system planning and preparation of General Arrangement Drawings (GAD) for TRIPP, IIT Delhi. The designs included complete corridor design including features for pedestrians, bicyclists, buses, bus shelters, etc. The second stage which was completed in 2008 included preparation of detailed co-ordinate-based construction drawings for implementation. The first phase of construction was completed in April 2008.Site studies (including traffic data analysis) to formulate urban street (network) planning and design solution (including intersection location and planning), preparation of GAD drawings (including carriageway, junctions, parking, pedestrian infrastructure, bicycle infrastructure, bus lanes, street furniture, signage, services design, pavement marking designs, etc.), detailed junction design, signal phase designing, services (drainage, lighting, telecom, etc.) designing, etc. Additional responsibilities included providing assistance in development of the DPR and making presentation to various government organizations and stakeholders. Also, complete system and infrastructure design (including station designs) of the BRT was developed for said corridor. The responsibilities included providing periodic supervisory support to the PMC (Rites India Ltd.). All detailed street designs, construction drawings, specifications, etc., were developed.
