BEAD tool training workshop for cities implementing BRTS under JnNURM

Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) Evaluation and Design (BEAD) Tool, an *.xls, based interactive tool developed for Institute of Urban Transport (IUT) allowing planners, designers, and decision makers to make a comparative evaluation against any proposed changes in features and their configuration in a (BRT) system. For the purpose, BRTS corridors in five selected cities were analysed and evaluated using BEAD Tool version 1.70, and the results of the same along with up to three selected alternative designs (for each corridor) were presented to city officials, consultants, engineers etc. in a total of four workshops. A total of 124 participants from five cities were trained and exposed to BEAD tool; in four workshops held at Delhi, Jaipur, Visakhapatnam and Bhopal between April and June 2013.
