Preparation of Bicycle Master Plan Delhi
Bicycle master plan has been prepared for Government of Delhi, in 1998. The document includes policy guidelines, identifies the network for bicycling infrastructure and includes designs for the same. Assisted TRIPP in preparation of detailed design for two corridors selected as priority corridors for bicycle infrastructure design implementation. The task included detailing all spaces within the Road Right of Way, on Vikas Marg and Barakhamba Road, Delhi. These were redefined and re-allocated, providing for cycle tracks, center and curb-side bus lanes, foot paths and Bus Stops based on the specifications defined the previous year. Also, detailed design and drawings (200 plans and 80 cross sections) of road stretches and intersections were prepared showing the design details of features such as Rickshaw parking, ramps for bicyclists and rickshaws, road markings and hawker stands. Signal cycles at intersections, incorporating a separate phase for ‘non-motorized vehicles’ + pedestrians, and a separate one for buses using the central bus lane.
